Xenia Vision
by Scott Virtes
Urlando was haunted
by the girl from Lexx;
One night conjuring
before the oracle
(the screaming box of images from
the ancient gods)
she appeared on screen
in full costume with
pouting lips, elvish good looks,
her baby blues cut him through,
her soft voice chanted,
"This is sci-fi."
Whatever that means;
some kind of spell he guessed,
bewitching him.
The oracle burst into flames
and no more visions would
ever be seen by his clan.
He spends his evenings
pacing his cave;
it wasn't fair!
There were no women like that
in his world, there were only
ogres,
gnawing broken bones.
