Undying Love

by Greg Schwartz

Valentine's Day--
she wakes to find a rose
beside her coffin

always punctual--
arriving with the stars
he greets her

crescent moon
they share a tourist
in the park

midnight stroll
holding hands by starlight
a passing crow

another flower--
he kneels and offers
undying love
