Sun asks her father for moneySo, Sun became pregnant on the island, and now, according to Juliet, she’s going to die. That’s two people on the island with death sentences (Charlie is the other for those who can’t keep up). Seems women who become pregnant on the island don’t live past their second trimester, and that gives Sun only a couple months to live – but hey, the good news? Jin is, in fact, the father.

Along those lines, turns out Sun has a couple secrets (and demons) of her own. After approached by a woman (who we all knew was Jin’s mother from the get go) who threatened to expose Jin as the son of a fisherman and prostitute, Sun buys her off using daddy’s money. In order to obtain that money, however, she must agree to let Jin work for her father. So, all those nights we watched Sun cry over her not knowing what Jin did for a living was all a lie. She proved it when she threatened to woman by saying, “My husband already believes you are dead. Don’t make me make that a reality.” And we know Sun is capable of it. Remember her shooting the Other on the boat without a second’s thought? It was the same episode where her lover, Jae, was mysteriously thrown out the window by an unseen assailant. Glass ballerina, Sun is not!

Meanwhile, Desmond, Hurley, Charlie and Jin try to make sense of the babbling woman who parachuted onto the island. ByThe mystery woman tells Hurley about flight 815 accidentally setting off a flair, Hurley attracts the attention of a man we thought was dead; Mikhail (aka Eye-Patch Man). Turns out he’s alive and that the sonic wave fence wasn’t enough to kill him… or did the island revive him? Either way, they find the parachute woman has a piece of branch that has punctured her lung. Mikhail offers his help only if they agree to let him go once he was done. Being men of their words, Mikhail saves the woman but not before some exchange of words in a foreign language.

“What did she say?” Hurley asked after a long string of Italian words spilled from her mouth.
“She said ‘thank you’,” Mikhail returned, and all of us laughed. If the rest of them believed it, they’re dumber than I thought.

But, for those of us lucky to understand Italian (or who have the mighty power of Google), turns out what the mysterious woman said is something more along the lines of “I am not alone. There are others.”

Finally able to speak, and with Mikhail gone to run amuck in the forest, Hurley leans toward the woman as she calls him to come closer Yoda-style. But There is another Skywalker is not what she tells him. Instead, she tells him that there were no survivors of Oceanic flight 815. That the plane had been found, and that there were no survivors.

Bullshit, I say. Be that a way to shock the audience, or an actual curve the story will take is yet to be seen, but if all our castaways turn out to be dead and this is their purgatory – a theory that has been floating around Losties since the show’s premier - then I will be very disappointed.

Until next time, Get LOST.
